ARIAS Presents “Falling for Harp & Violin Duo”

Sunday, October 29 at The Amelia Community Theatre 

Amelia Residents in Action for the Symphony (ARIAS) welcomes two Jacksonville Symphony musicians in an intimate performance at 3:30 p.m. on October 29. Doors at the Amelia Community Theatre will open Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. for a pre-concert reception featuring sparkling wines and non-alcoholic beverages with hand-held crudité and sweets at intermission. 

Tickets are $50 for ARIAS members, $60 for non-members and $20 for students. Along with reception snacks, tickets include two Prosecco or sparkling cider drinks. Tickets can be purchased through the ACT Box Office, online at ameliacommunitytheatre.org or at 904.261.6749. ARIAS members must use the member code from the concert announcement email for discount. 

Performing at the event will be harpist Kayo Ishimaru and violinist Jeehee Kang. 

Jacksonville Symphony principal harpist Ishimaru began her music studies at age three with the piano but moved to the harp at age ten. With a scholarship from the French government she studied at the renowned Paris Conservatory where she was awarded the coveted Premier Prix. She has performed with orchestras and in solo performances around the world. She also serves as principal harpist with Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival Orchestra. 

Kang holds a Master’s degree and Performance Diploma from Indiana University where she was awarded an Artistic Excellence Fellowship. She has performed with ensembles, quartets and orchestras in South Korea and the U.S., including the New World Symphony.
